Do you have a need for a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, but find you have most of the data in your Peachtree files? Would it be great if you could export the data from Peachtree such that it could be processed by an MRP system?

SMR - Interface with Invertech MRA® allows you to do exactly that. Invertech MRA® was designed to be an affordable, adaptable and easy to use MRP software system that could be utilized in a variety of production or distribution situations. The primary focus of the Invertech MRA® software is to enhance the inventory control and materials management functionality using information from Peachtree. Invertech MRA® is an entirely separate product, and is not included as part of the SMR enhancement. However, SKS Consulting can bundle the purchase of the Invertech MRA® product with the SMR Enhancement.

You will enter SMR by selecteing the Extended Processing Options in the Invoice/Order Entry Processing menu. You will then get a menu something like this:

Your menu probably will not look exactly like this, depending on the enhancements you have turned on. However, you should have choice "2 - Export to Invertech MRA" as one of the options. Selecting that option will produce the following Main Meun for SMR.

Actually, the first time you run SMR, you will not see this menu, but instead will see the configuration screen. The configuration screen is the second option on this menu, but is popped up automatically the first time you enter the enhancement. The Configuration screen looks like this:

In the frame on the upper left part of the form, you can select the type of order information you want to export. Just click the check box (Orders, Invoices, Quotes) to indicate that you want the corresponding information exported.

Next, you will want to identify the directory into which you want to place the output files that are then imported by Invertech MRA®. This must be a valid directory. Four files (Product.xls, PO.xls, OE.xls and BOM.xls) will be generated and placed in this directory when SMR runs.

Invertech MRA® needs 2 pieces of information that is not available in the Peachtree files. That information is the "Manufacturing Type" and the "Lead Time". These 2 fields must be placed in one of the five User Definable fields in the Inventory Records. The Inventory Usr Field entry on the configuration screen is used to tell SMR which User Definable field you are using for this information. Both pieces of information should be entered in the same User Definable field, with a comma between them. You should enter the Manufacturing Type followed by a comma followed by the Lead Time in days.

Assume you put a 5 in the Inventory Usr Field on the configuration form. Also assume for a particular inventory item, you want to indicate Manufacturing Type of "M" and Lead Time of 21 days. You would then enter in User Definable Field 5 for the item in question "M,21" (without the quotes).

If you put a 0 in the Inventory Usr Field on the configuration form, SMR will not export anything in the Manufacturing Type and Lead Time fields.

Once you set up the Configuration, the information is saved for subsequent executions.

You are now ready to run the export. Select "E - Export Invertech MRA Transactions" from the SMR Main Menu. SMR will run to completion and then return to the SMR Main Menu.
