SIR Sales Analysis Report Writer

With SIR - Sales Analysis Report Writer you can print all these reports and more in just minutes. Print reports by salesperson, customer, vendor, ship date and more. Powerful menu options allow you to specify what information prints on the report and where it prints. Choose from more than 40 fields to print.

After activating SIR - Sales Analysis Report Writer the following menu will appear when selecting the Inventory Activity Report from Sales Invoicing:

S - Selection Criteria: Determines which documents should be included on the report.

T - Sort Criteria: Determines how the report will be organized and how the detail will be listed.

R - Report Layout\Content: Determines what detail will print on the report, and how the detail is displayed.

O - Totaling Options: Determines when totals will appear on the report.

V - Save/Load Settings: Saves settings for future use and loads previously saved settings.

P - Print Document Register: Prints the report.

F1-Help Can be used at any time for detailed information regarding the current options on the screen.

F10-Done and ShF10-Home Exits you to the Peachtree program menus.

The bottom half of the screen shows your current settings. Each selection criteria will show "All" or it will display the range or selection information for each field. On certain fields like Product Code or Salesperson you may want to include "blank" fields in your selection. If you have selected a "Blank" it will appear as a "-" on the menu. (Example: In the above screen shot Product Code is set to blank)

Selection Criteria

The first option S - Selection Criteria gives the option to specify which documents should be included on the report. The following menu will appear. (Use the Hotkeys "H" & "D" or hit enter on Doc Header Info or Line Detail Info.)

Sort Criteria

Selecting the second option, T - Sort Criteria, determines how the report will be organized and how detail will be listed. Define up to three sort keys, or levels of sorting. For example you may want to print a report sorted first by salesperson, then by document number, then by department. Do this by making the first sort key equal to salesperson, the second equal to document number, and the third sort key equal to department. The following menu will appear:

Report Layout/Content

Choosing the third option select R - Report Layout/Content, determines what detail prints on the report, and where the information prints.

As each field is added they will be displayed on the "Layout Design Area". If the length of the field is longer than the title, each leading or trailing space will use "." as a place marker so the number of columns each field will use will be displayed. You can use [Alt-F5] to toggle between the right half and left half of the report.

Column: Starting Column where this field should be placed.

Row: Starting Row where this field should be placed.

Title1,2 &3: Each field is allowed to have up to three title lines.

Decimal Places: The number of decimal places to display for this field.

Length: The total character width for this field.

Total(Y/N): Indicates whether or not this field should be included on the totals lines.

Use [ShF5] to move the field Left, [ShF6] to move the field Right, [ShF7] to move the field Up, [ShF8] to move the field Down or change the Row/Columns manually. After choosing the options for each field simply hit [F10] to save that field and move on to to place the next field on the report.

Totaling Options:

To choose the fourth option select O - Totaling Options. With this option choose what totals will appear on the report. The following menu will appear:

Totaling Options gives the ability to specify which totals to display on the report. 1 - First Key Totals will cause a total to print on the report any time the primary sort key changes. 2 - Second Key Totals will cause a subtotal to print any time the secondary sort key changes, and similarly 3 - Third Key Totals will cause a subtotal to print any time the third sort key changes. For example, suppose you are sorting by salesperson and document date. If you have first, and second key totals turned on, then any time a new date or salesperson is encountered, a subtotal will print. When totals are turned on for a particular Sort Key a Check mark will display next to it.

Selecting to Sort by a Date field will cause the following menu to appear after toggling that key on, choose to subtotal by any or all of the options listed below:

Save/Load Settings

To choose the fifth option select V - Save/Load Settings. This option will save settings for future use and load previously saved settings. The following menu will appear:

S - Save Settings: Save current setting for future use.

D - Save As Defaults: Save current settings as defaults. These settings will automatically be active each time SIR-Sales Analysis Report Writer is entered.

R - Restore Settings: Load previously saved settings.

F - Load Factory Defaults: Loads the settings that were shipped with SIR - Sales Analysis Report Writer.

X - Delete Old Setting: Delete old settings files.

The settings will be saved into the invoicing/receivable data file directory under the name SYXXXXXX.Tcc where XXXXXX is the name specified by the user and cc is the current company ID.

Print Document Register

To choose the sixth option select P - Print Document Register. A prompt will appear for the printer destination, the report will then be created and printed.
