| RDC Date Sensitive Month End Close |
Do you want next months transactions automatically moved to next month when you close? Would you like to see those transactions appear with the other transactions for next month? With enhancement RDC - Date Sensitive Month End Close, all next months credits, payments, and invoices - paid or unpaid - will be moved forward to the next period when you close the current period!
To use RDC - Date Sensitive Month End Close, simply enter next month's invoices and transactions with the correct transaction date, as shown below for an April transaction entered before March has been closed:
+----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | |+====================================================================+| ||ARPROC1 Enter Transactions COMPANY ID: SP || ||03/12/94 Software Professionals, Inc. GENERATION #: 50 || |+====================================================================+| | | |Trans. Date.: 04/03/94 | |Customer ID.: ACMEIN Acme Products Balance: 230.00 | |Trans. Type.: SA Sale Credit Limit: 12000.00 | |Product Code: A A/R Enhancements | | | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
When Closing the Current Period, you will be asked for an exclusion date in addition to the period ending date. The exclusion date will default to the end of the current month. You should use the same exclusion date for closing that was used for creating G/L entries. An exclusion date of 01/01/00 will close the period as if the enhancement was not installed.
The exclusion date determines what transactions are brought forward and the Period Ending Date is used by Peachtree to verify the last ageing update and date for Balance Forward transactions. If you have Temporary Customers with a $0 balance on the exclusion date, but with transactions dated after the exclusion date, the customers will NOT be deleted.
RDC - Date Sensitive Month End Close only affects the current and future periods. Once a period has been closed, you cannot enter transactions for that period unless you restore from a backup. If you restore a backup, you must reenter all transactions that have been entered since the backup was made.
