| PZT Calculate Zero Tax |
Are there times when you do not want to deduct taxes from an employees pay check? If you do not want to change the tax status in the Maintain Employee file, then a tax amount must be deducted.
With PZT - Calculate Zero Tax, you can deduct zero taxes from an employee's pay, by entering minus one (-1) for the tax amount in Enter Exceptions.
This is useful if you don't want to deduct taxes from a bonus check or from a fringe benefit.
To use PZT - Calculate Zero Tax, choose Enter Taxes from the selection options in Enter Exceptions and enter "R" to replace the tax desired, then enter "-1" for the amount:

When Calculate Pay is run for this employee, zero taxes will be withheld for FICA and Federal in the above example.
