Track items and fill orders with ease by printing labels as you receive items into inventory!
How many times have you wished you could have easy-to-read labels on your inventory items? You need critical information on all your items so you can quickly fill orders, simplify reordering and breeze through physical inventory counts. With ILA - Inventory Labels, easily print custom labels for your inventory items and stop exporting information from Peachtree into a spreadsheet or another program or having to manually create labels for your items.
After installing ILA - Inventory Labels a new function key [F7 - LABELS] will be available when you Maintain Inventory Items and when you Query Inventory Items in Purchase Order or Inventory. You will also be automatically prompted to print labels when you Receive Items in inventory Purchase Order.
Just select [F7-LABELS] and you will receive the following menu.

Maintain Formats:
Selecting "M-Maintain Formats" will bring up the following menu.

The following function keys are available from this menu:
[F5 DEFLT(*)] - Allows you to select the highlighted Label format as the default label format. (a "*" will indicate which format is the current default.)
[ShF7-preview] - Allows you to get a screen preview of the first 20 lines of the current label format.
[F8- DEL] - Allows you to Delete the currently highlighted label format.
[SHF6-add] - Allows you to create a New Label Formats.
[F6-copy] - Allows you to make copies of existing Formats
[F7-edit] - Allows you to Edit existing copies of Label Formats
Selecting [F6- COPY] or [SHF6- ADD] will bring up the following Menu:

Format #: This field will be filled in automatically when saving a new Label format.
Default Printer: Select the Printer #(1-4) you wish the labels to default to.
Format Name: Enter a unique format name for each label format
Height: Enter the height (in number of characters) of the label you wish to print.
Width: Enter the width (in number of characters) the label should be.
Across: Enter the number of labels across each page.
(i.e. If the page has 2 columns of labels across the page, enter 2 here.)
Compressed: If you wish the labels to print in compressed print answer "Y" here.
Top Margin:** Enter the # of lines you want the labels to skip on the top of each page.
Bottom Margin:** Enter the # of lines you want the labels to skip on the bottom of each page.
**Please note that the top and bottom margin should normally only be used on single sheet printers (Laser and Ink Jet Printers).
Selecting [F7 EDIT FIELDS] allows you define what fields print on your labels: If you chose [ShF6 ADD] above you will need to add the fields you wish to print. If you choose [F6- COPY] above the fields from the previous label will be displayed here. You can add additional fields and edit\delete existing fields.

[ShF7-preview] - Allows you to get a screen preview of the first 20 lines of a label
[F8- DEL] - Allows you to Delete a field.
[F10 - DONE] - Brings you back to the Label Options Box.
[F6 - ADD] - Allows you to add a field and brings you to the menu below:

By using [F2 LOOKUP] you can select to print any of the following fields on a label. If you use [F2- LOOKUP] only the first 12 choices will appear on the screen. You can use [pgup] and [pgdn] to see additional selections. If you remember the 2 letter Field Code you can make the input even quicker by avoiding the lookup boxes.

After selecting the field you want to put on your label will be asked for the row and column where the field should print. If you selected UT you will also be asked to enter the Text (up to 20 characters) that you wish to print on the label. If you attempt to print a field someplace that is already in use, you will receive a warning message, and be asked to reselect the row and column choices.
You can add as many fields as you would like to on the labels. You are limited only by the Height\Width choices made for each label format.
Select Formats:
If you choose the "S-Select Format" option you will receive the following menu:

To choose your label format simply highlight the desired format and push [Enter], Then push [F10] to return to the previous menu.
(Please note that only Label format 1 is predefined)
Print Labels:
If you choose the "P-Print Labels" option you will be asked to select the printer. You will then be asked to select the number of labels you wish to print.
If you are printing labels through Enter Transactions the # of Labels will default to the Quantity Ordered.
If you are printing labels through Purchase Order Enter Receipts you will receive the following prompt:

If you want labels for each inventory items received select "A - Automatically Print".
If you only want to print labels for some of the inventory items select "P - Prompt At Each Line".
Then, at each line item you will receive the following menu

Using this menu you can select to print the appropriate format and number of labels for this inventory item. Each new line of the Purchase Order will bring up the label options menu. This allows you complete control over how many, and which label you want to print for each inventory item received.
***Please Note that if you are printing a control report in Enter transactions or Purchase order you MUST select a different printer for the labels that your control report printer. If you do not, both the labels and the control report information will print on your labels.***
