| IC7 7 Decimal Places in # Required |
Do your decimal place assemblies require decimal places? Would you like better accuracy when calculating decimals?
With IC7 - 7 Decimal Places in # Required, the number required in an assembly can be specified to seven decimal places. This is useful when formulas need to be expressed more exactly than the two decimal places normally provided.
After installing IC7 - 7 Decimal Places in # Required, you will be allowed to enter up to 7 decimal places for assemblies in Maintain Inventory Assemblies, as shown below:
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+ |+==================================================================+| ||INMAINT Maintain Inventory Assemblies COMPANY ID: SP || ||11/05/90 Software Professionals Inc. GENERATION #: 13 || |+==================================================================+| | | |ITEM TYPE (P/S): P DEPARTMENT : CHE ITEM NUMBER : 5691 | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Screen #1 Component Information LIST MODE | | | | Item Type Dept Item # Description # Required | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ |1. P CHE 6102 Sodium Chloride 0.0000125 | |2. P CHE 5112 Magnesium Sulfite 0.0003701 | |3. P CHE 5510 Hydrogen Peroxide 0.0000081 | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+
Quantity On Hand is still limited to two decimal places, but if you assemble large quantities, rounding will be minimal.
The # Required is carried in the Peachtree files as a single precision floating point number. This means only about 7 digits of precision can be entered. For example, if you were to enter 123.456789, you would probably end up with something like 123.4567xx where xx would not necessarily be 89 because that level of precision has been compromised. Just count the number of digits; once past 7, you may lose that level of precision. You do not count leading zeros when doing this count.
This enhancement defaults to 7 digits to the right of the decimal point. If you want fewer then 7, build a file named "IC701PPT.PRO" and save it in your PCA directory (with your program files). Use Notepad to build this file. This file should consist of 1 number in the range 0-7, which indicates the number of decimal places to the right of the decimal point.
